Hybrid layouts

Someone asked me to try some digital/hybrid layouts a few weeks ago and I've been intrigued yet a little intimidated by the thought. I've worked a lot with fonts and WordArt and stuff - but never thought I'd use digital "paper" on my layouts. In the past I've tried doing 100% digital layouts but they just aren't the same. I love to see and feel the texture of chipboard elements, flowers, buttons, bling. But the other day I found some great digital patterns and started downloading and printing them out. I love the results. My first layout here was done in less than 10 minutes and several minutes of that was just fishing through my glass jars looking for the right chipboard letters. That and I decided to consult with another scrapbooker (thanks Cari!) because I just felt like it shouldn't take such little effort. I'm not used to sitting down and doing a layout within a matter of minutes. It was so simple and I have to admit that I really love the results. So I did another one right after that. You'll probably notice the color combinations are almost identical. I used black on the first one and brown on the 2nd - but the lime green and coral colors remain the dominant colors. Funny, seeing as how they came from 2 different websites...I guess I am drawn to that color combo. Let me know what you think!
