a much needed night out

I got to meet one of my online friends today. One of my Croppers Cottage friends - Amber - was in town so I met her at her hotel and we got to hang out together for a few hours. I tried my BEST to make a run to Ruban Rouge (the best scrapbook store in the south) before it closed. We made it there like 2 minutes before it closed. I admit I felt kinda weird walking in when they were all trying to leave - but as usual...they are so so nice there and I told them that Amber drove from Orlando (farther actually) to check it out. Actually, she is here for other reasons - but visiting Ruban Rouge was high on her list and I wanted to make sure we got in there. Anyway - they were their usual sweet selves and said they weren't going to kick us out and since a couple of them were hanging out for a few minutes - to go ahead and shop. I cannot tell you how much that meant. Those ladies really know how to treat their customers. So we got a few minutes of looking around in before they had to leave for the airport to pick up Sarah Milne who is cropping and teaching at Ruban Rouge tomorrow and Saturday. I wish I could be there for that! Then we went out for dinner and margaritas! It was SO nice to meet Amber - she is such a super sweet person. I am so upset with myself though...I purposefully took my camera with me so I could get a picture of us - and I totally forgot! I was really enjoying being out of the house (with the kids at home with daddy) and getting some adult conversation with a friend that shares the same passion of scrapbooking. I am sure I was babbling a mile a minute. All you moms out there know what it's like when you get that brief adult conversation in... knowing that tomorrow you go back to talking to toddlers all day.

I come home and decide to go inside through the garage. What do I see? that A/C leak that they came out to work on 2 days ago is leaking all over my garage floor again! I was told today when they were here (again) that this a/c unit is pretty much toast. It all needs to be replaced. Inside and out. He said that he couldn't promise that the fix he did today would last until then. great.

Well, it sure was great to get out of the house tonight. And especially great to meet Amber - I hope our paths will cross again sometime in the future.
