my little ballerina

We're back from Jessica's first ballet class. She did really well and can't stop saying (with a sigh) "That was REALLY fun - I loved it mom!" - seriously, everytime I turn around she's telling me how much she loved going to class. That and "Ms. Kristin is really nice" (Kristin is her teacher). I wasn't able to use my flash to take these pictures - so unfortunately they didn't turn out as well as I would like. But I'm lucky they let me stand there and shoot away to begin with. One of the parents said something to the effect that it was a distraction to the class. Please. First of all I wasn't in the classroom - I was on the other side of the wall...AND I was shooting my pictures through the reflection in the mirror so the kids didn't even see me - AND I had turned the flash off. I'm sorry - but the music was on and the teacher was getting them so involved in learning how to act out a story that they weren't bothered by me in the very least!

All of the little ballerinas were having so much fun and Jessica was laughing so hard during their class. The teacher was really good about making this a fun thing, yet she was teaching them some basics at the same time. I was truly impressed. There was only one little one (that JUST turned 3) that kindof lost desire to participate near the end, but other than that it was a great class. A couple years ago the girls got a cute little ballet mat (showing you where you place your feet) and a little plastic pole thing that they use for balance. I must go find that! Jessica will have a whole new love for that thing. Maybe it will help her learn now as well. Bonus!
