Monday's news...

I am so excited. I just signed Jessica up for ballet. She has been bugging me for the longest time to be able to go to ballet. While I was talking to the owner of the studio, Jessica stood on a little stool at the window and watched other students in their class. After I signed her up I took her to the store and got her little leotard, tights, ballet shoes and a little hair thingy to tuck her ponytail into. Tomorrow morning is her first class. She has already reminded me, "Mom, remember to take lots of pictures through this window, ok?" hahaha...I have my girls trained so well for taking pictures!

Jessica also learned how to swim with floaties on this last weekend. She has been so afraid of the water even after 2 months of lessons last year and lots of playing in the pool this year. Tom put the floaties on and she resisted and said she was too scared. But once Tom let go of her and she realized she was doing it herself - she couldn't get enough!

Going back to Saturday evening...I was tucking Lindsay into bed when I noticed a huge red mark across her neck. Insert picture here of my eyes bulging out and my jaw dropped wide open. After much prodding - I finally found out that she had been standing on the window ledge and jumping off.
She said it was an accident - that she didn't know the cord to the blinds was around her neck. Not sure how you can NOT know that - but that's what she said. Well, the cord broke the skin on her neck and the wound just looks terrible. The skin is broken and everything. I told Tom that if he came home from work today and I wasn't here - it's probably because Lindsay's school noticed the mark and called the authorities on me. I say that with a little laugh - but really, it's not funny. These days you have to really worry about what other people think you're doing to your child. To an outsider - this would look really bad! I've been coating it with Neosporin. This wound can't heal fast enough for me.

I'm continuing to try to get a good photo of this spider web I see when I take Lindsay to the bus stop. Here are a couple more pictures. Pretty funky looking spider! It's called a "spiny orb-weaver."

Thank you to Terry for the tip on spritzing water on the web before taking the picture. Smart thinkin'! Now if I can manage to be out there with my spray bottle when the sun is just hitting it ... will continue trying until I get the shot I'm picturing in my head!

You will love watching Jessica's ballet class... I cried through most of Sophie's first one! Lindsay's neck looks very sore.... you can always tell a scrapbooker photographing everything... Harry had a big fall when he was little and bumps and bruises all over his wee face and tears streaming down his face.. and you guessed it I photographed it!!

That spider is totally creepin' me out! Yikes! I have never seen one like that, but what great pictures you're getting of it! WOW!

I hope that Lindsay's neck is healing up quickly, that is SO scary! I know what you mean about outsider's wondering what you're doing to your child based on their weird boo-boo's, been there, done that! LOL!
